Community Response Fund Grant Recipients

  • First Baptist Childcare Center ($3,500) to fund protective equipment including facemasks, sanitizer, and new thermometers. 
  • Alliance YWCA ($1,000) to support self-pay seniors with the Meals on Wheels program to lessen the burden during COVID during the month of March.
  • Alliance Pregnancy Center ($1,000) to provide baby formula, diapers and pull-ups for mothers and prenatal vitamins for newly diagnosed pregnant patients.
  • Alliance YWCA – ($1,971.12) to support self-pay seniors with the Meals on Wheels program to lessen the burden during COVID during the holiday months of November and December.
  • Early Childhood Education Alliance – ($3,890) to support the Early Childhood Education Alliance in partnership with the United Way and Get Go to provide PPE, and educational material and equipment to preschoolers in Alliance in the SPARK program.
  • First Baptist Nursery School and Child Care Center – ($650) to provide cleaning supplies, disposable gloves, protective smocks for the teachers and individual nap blankets for children.
  • Men’s Challenge of Alliance – ($850) to provide SARTA bus passes, cleaning supplies, and masks.
  • The Salvation Army of Alliance – ($3,500) to help Alliance residents who are facing shut off and disconnect notices due to COVID-19 layoffs or reduced work hours.
  • Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter – ($6,000) to provide scheduled professional cleanings to the shelter.
  • Union Avenue Preschool – ($400) to provide cleaning supplies, PPE, disinfectant sprayer and bins for children’s individual use.
  • Alliance YMCA – ($3,000) to provide a new mobile service program called “Y on the Fly” to various locations throughout Alliance providing activities for children that coincide with the food distribution program during the months of July and August.
  • Alliance YWCA – ($1,500) to help senior citizens and disabled individuals living in the Alliance Towers by sustaining door to door meal delivery and purchasing food carts, plastic grocery bags, meal carriers, heat and cool units, PPE and cleaning supplies.
  • Alliance YWCA – ($1,500) to create a Payment Relief Program for seniors who receive Meals on Wheels in the Alliance area along with a bag of shelf-stable food items and PPE products for volunteers delivering meals.
  • Alliance Salvation Army – ($4,500) to help Alliance residents who are encountering job loss or reduced hours and at-risk youth. Funding is earmarked toward keeping basic utilities on facing disconnection of services, provisions of food and personal care products, and at-risk connection bags containing necessities.
  • Alliance Community Pantry – ($3,000) for repairs and maintenance to equipment and truck to continue providing large quantities of food to clients.
  • Alliance Pregnancy Center – ($1,500) to help disadvantaged single mothers of infants and toddlers (many now unemployed) through curbside service of newborn through size 6 diapers, baby  food and formula.
  • Alliance Family Health Center – ($5,000) to help Alliance residents by providing COVID-19 testing supplies and patient care.
  • Stuckey Family Interfaith CDC – ($3,086) to provide toddlers and preschoolers with cot blankets and plastic bins with lids to reduce cross-contamination from home to school along with cleaning and laundry supplies to meet the heightened safety standards during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Vine United Methodist Church – ($1,000) to help the city of Alliance and surrounding townships in sourcing food to those in need in conjunction with the Akron-Canton Food Bank.
