Alliance Symphony Orchestra: “Traditions Reimagined” Concert

When: Sunday, April 19th at 3 p.m.
Where: Brush Performance Hall, University of Mount Union (Giese Center for the Performing Arts)
What: The program features Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 (“London”), Igor Stravinsky’s Suite No. 2 for Small Orchestra, and Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite I, and Aaron Copland’s Variations on a Shaker Melody. The program explores the enduring power of musical tradition. Copland, Respighi, and Stravinsky each draw on earlier forms and melodies, reshaping them with distinctive imagination and voice.
