The Alliance Symphony Orchestra will present its Fall Concert on Sunday, November 2, at 3 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall, located in the University of Mount Union’s Giese Center for the Performing Arts. Eric Benjamin, a music faculty member at Mount Union, will conduct the orchestra. The concert, entitled Romantic Gems, will showcase three captivating works from the Romantic period—two by leading composers of the era and one whose music was overlooked in her lifetime.
The program will feature Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, with guest soloist Christopher Jones, clarinetist and University of Mount Union alumnus. Also included are
Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Overture in C and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 (“Reformation”), a beloved work of power and beauty.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/veterans, and free for all students. Student and child tickets must be ordered by phone or in person. Tickets are available online at
