Alliance, OH – The Greater Alliance Foundation (GAF) is proud to announce that in the first six months of Fiscal Year 2025, nearly $875,000 in grants have been distributed to support vital community projects and initiatives. These grants reflect the commitment of GAF to strengthening the greater Alliance area by funding capital projects and programs that address critical needs and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Among the many impactful projects supported, some of the most notable include:
- Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter – Funding for technology and software improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client services.
- Friends of the Parks – Support for the construction of a new splash pad at Maple Beech Park, providing a fun and safe recreational space for families.
- Hartville Migrant Ministry – Funding for a new storage shed to house essential outdoor equipment, including a lawn tractor, snow blower, and tools used by volunteers who maintain the grounds.
- National Inventors Hall of Fame, Inc. – Support for Camp Invention, a four-day annual STEM camp that fosters creativity and problem-solving skills among Alliance students.
- Synergy Alliance – Funding for the 11th year of Summer Explorers, an enriching summer program for local youth, designed to combat summer learning loss.
- Ben Curtis Family Foundation – Assistance to provide over 450 children in Alliance facing food insecurity with regular and reliable non-perishable meals and snacks.
- Early Childhood Education Alliance – Ongoing foundational support for birth through 5 years olds in Alliance, Marlington and Sebring.
- Hammer and Nails – Grant to support critical home repairs for Alliance residents, including wheelchair ramp installations, painting, carpentry, porch and deck repairs, storm door and lock set installations, railing repairs, step repairs, and property landscape maintenance.
- Michael’s World – Support to purchase age-appropriate clothing, socks, and underwear for children in Alliance, Sebring, Louisville, and Marlington schools.
- Rodman Public Library – Funding for the 2024 Fogle Author Series, an initiative that connects the community with authors, with a particular focus on Alliance and Ohio-based writers.
