Alliance, OH – Heidi McClung, Executive Director of the Greater Alliance Foundation (GAF), has announced the appointment of Sue Neil to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “Sue brings a unique blend of business experience, community service, and dedication that aligns very well with the mission of our community foundation,” said McClung. “We are honored to welcome her to our Board for her experience and perspective, as both will be a valuable addition to our Board.
A lifelong resident of our community and active community volunteer, Neil has devoted 43 years of service to Robertson Heating Supply, her family’s business, where she served as Corporate Secretary and Human Resources Director. She was named one of the Top 10 Women in Industry by Supply House Times Magazine in 2020 and received the Athena Award in 2024. Neil’s extensive volunteer work includes serving on the Alliance First Christian Church Board, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels (whose Massillon kitchen bears the Neil family name), and holding leadership roles with the Alliance Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division and the Alliance Association of Office Professionals. She has also coordinated disaster relief efforts for victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Helene.
“I have a personal passion to impact the community of Alliance and support organizations and people in ways that help sustain their success,” Neil said. “I believe my compassion for the community, paired with my involvement in a variety of organizations and events, gives me insight into local needs. I look forward to being a good steward of the Foundation’s mission.”
GAF Board President Judge Andrew Zumbar added, “Sue embodies the spirit of community philanthropy. Her remarkable history of volunteerism and her heart for service make her a natural fit for our Board. We’re thrilled to welcome her leadership and wisdom.”
Neil sees community philanthropy as a way to leave a legacy of positive impact. “To me, it means sharing my blessings to foster the success of others,” she said. “It’s about giving back in ways that make a lasting difference.”
