Scholarship Funds

Personalized funds that forward-thinking people or organizations can create to help others achieve their dreams and advance in their post-secondary or vocational education. 

Benefits:

  • No upfront costs or administrative hassle and GAF accepts a wide range of nontraditional assets such as contributions from an organization or a group of individual donors.
  • A fund is set up in a professionally managed investment fund that can generate investment income, year after year.
  • A portion of the earned income or a specific dollar among can be used for annual scholarship awards.
  • GAF can provide assistance in determining guidelines including eligibility criteria, award amounts and the selection committee.

Athena Scholarship Fund (Est. 2013)

A non-renewable scholarship for a senior female in the greater Alliance community demonstrating community involvement, academic achievement and leadership. [Application Form]

Lloyd and June Carlile Educational Scholarship Fund (Est. 2005)

A renewable scholarship for graduating seniors of Marlington High School or graduating seniors of other high schools who are the children of current or past employees of Custom Poly Bag in Marlboro Township. [Application Form]

Carnation City Players Scholarship Fund (Est. 2014)

A non-renewable scholarship for high school seniors for post-secondary education who intend to study theater arts and/or plan future involvement with community theater. [Application Form]

Jane Moncrief “Spirit of Nursing” Scholarship Fund (Est. 2019)

A non-renewable scholarship for a 2nd level full-time or 2nd level part-time LPN student at the R. T. White School of Nursing that resides in the city of Alliance.  Consideration is given to clinical skills proficiency as recommended to the selection committee by the teaching staff.  Financial need is also a consideration. Sarah Stanley Memorial Scholarship Fund (Est. 2015)

A non-renewable scholarship for a graduating or homeschool high school senior who plans to pursue an agricultural career path at the Ohio State University or the ATI Wooster campus.  Applicants must have been an active 4H member in Stark County for one or more years. [Application Form]

Nancy Teeple Penny Nursing Scholarship Fund (Est. 2010)

A non-renewable scholarship for a 1st year LPN student at the R. T. White School of Practical Nursing who graduated from Alliance High School.  This award is based on financial need. For application, contact mchenryro@alliancecityschools.org

Robert T. White Scholarship Fund (Est. 2018)

A non-renewable scholarship for a 2nd level full-time or 2nd year part-time student at the R. T. White School of Practical Nursing who has a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average.  Consideration will also be based on attendance record and financial need.
