Family of Funds

The Greater Alliance Foundation features funds established by individuals, families, corporations, private foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Contributing to one of our more than 80 funds – or starting your own – supports the overall improvement of our community.

Greater Alliance Community Fund (1999)

This fund is our savings account for the future of our community. Help us help the community through an unrestricted gift to the Greater Alliance Community Fund. The purpose of this fund is to address the community’s greatest needs.

Friends of the Rodman Public Library Agency Fund (2022)

This fund supports the Friends of the Rodman Public Library, the non-profit organization which supports the Rodman Public Library. They work to promote the Library's programs, encourage support of the Library, and satisfy the Library's needs.

Friends of the Rodman Public Library Together Fund (2022)

This fund supports the Friends of the Rodman Public Library, the non-profit organization which supports the Rodman Public Library. For every donation to this Together Fund between $100 and $5,000, GAF will provide a matching grant of 5% and return the original donation to the Friends of the Rodman Public Library.

Geraldine Burnell-Brotzman Charitable Fund (2001)

Through planned giving, Geraldine established this DAF to meet the needs of the greater Alliance community.

Grove Appliance Charitable Fund (2018)

As owners, David and Beth Mitchell established this Corporate Advised Fund as a way their company could give back to provide for the betterment of the Alliance community.

Harrell Charitable Fund (2010)

This DAF was established by Christina who grew up in Alliance and is the the daughter of Terry and Judy Tolerton.

Honoring Hometown Heroes Banner Fund (2019)

The Honoring Hometown Heroes Committee established this fund to recognize local veterans by displaying military tribute banners throughout the city of Alliance and providing educational programs on behalf of the community’s United States Veterans.

Honoring Hometown Heroes Scholarship Fund (2022)

This scholarship was established for all seniors of a veteran or active duty parent or guardian residing in and graduating from Alliance, Marlington, Sebring, or West Branch School Districts. St. Thomas Aquinas seniors may apply if they reside in one of the above four school districts.

Independence Day Fireworks Fund (2004)

This fund was established to celebrate our nation’s birth with community, recreational, and educational events sponsored by the city’s commission.

Jack and Madge Peters Charitable Fund (2004)

John “Jack” and Madge Peters expressed their continuing commitment to their local community foundation by establishing the fund.

Jack and Madge Peters Early Childhood Education Endowment Fund (2019)

Jack and Madge Peters established this fund to provide an ongoing and stable source of funding to Early Childhood Education Alliance, Inc. Distributions from this fund to ECEA are intended to be used to enhance early learning experiences.

Jack Peters Memorial Fund (2021)

This fund was established in memory of GAF’s philanthropic co-founder, Jack Peters. Through him, countless partnerships, initiatives, scholarships, and ideas were born in the city he loved. This fund supports his encompassing vision.

James and Margaret Williams Alliance Family YMCA Youth Fund (2018)

Jim served as a founding trustee to the GAF and served many years on the YMCA board. This fund was established to support youth leadership and healthy lifestyle programs for the Alliance youth at the YMCA.
