Family of Funds

The Greater Alliance Foundation features funds established by individuals, families, corporations, private foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Contributing to one of our more than 80 funds – or starting your own – supports the overall improvement of our community.

Greater Alliance Community Fund (1999)

This fund is our savings account for the future of our community. Help us help the community through an unrestricted gift to the Greater Alliance Community Fund. The purpose of this fund is to address the community’s greatest needs.

Marlington Education Innovation Fund (2016)

This fund was established by the Marlington Local School District to promote, encourage and enhance educational opportunities that strengthen and enrich students’ experiences through classroom grants awarded to teachers that facilitate STEM education, 21st Century Learning skills, Ohio Learning Standards, 1-to-1 Technology Integration, and Professional Development for Teachers or Community Engagement.

Maxine Middleton Charitable Fund (2022)

Scott Middleton established this fund in memory of his wife Max who bravely battled breast cancer for 14 years. She was better known for her ability to connect with people. This memorial continues her legacy of helping others.

Memorial Park Monument Fund (2023)

This fund was established by a committee to recognize and pay tribute to local veterans by establishing and displaying military monuments of each U.S. War at the Alliance Memorial Park and to provide educational programming on behalf of our local veterans.

Neil Family Donor Advised Fund (2021)

Sue and Scott established this fund to share their blessings and make an impact on their community and continue the philanthropic legacy of Sue’s grandparents toward local needs.

Raptor Hallow Sanctuary Agency Fund (2024)

Raptor Hallow Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that provides refuge for birds of prey, reptiles, mammals, and other birds that are unable to be released back into the wild. Their mission is to protect the earth's biodiversity, and to secure the future of all bird prey species in their natural habitats.

Raptor Hallow Sanctuary Together Fund (2024)

Raptor Hallow Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that provides refuge for birds of prey, reptiles, mammals, and other birds that are unable to be released back into the wild. For every donation to this Together Fund between $100 and $5,000, GAF will provide a matching grant of 5% and return the original donation to Raptor Hallow.

Richard and Susanne Campbell Charitable Fund (1999)

Dick and Sue established this fund for charitable activities with a special emphasis on the Alliance Family YMCA.

Robert and Arlene Gempler Education Fund (2021)

This fund was established to honor a long-time community couple by providing funding to support a variety of educational programs in our area.

Robert and Sally Reed Early Education Fund (2015)

Drs. Robert and Sally Reed were successful doctors in Alliance and they believed that quality preschool gave children a strong start to grow socially and intellectually. This fund supports financially disadvantaged families to enroll their children in quality early childhood education.

Robertson Family Charitable Fund (2005)

Virginia, wife of Alliance businessman John Robertson who founded Robertson Heating Supply in 1934, established this fund to support projects that benefit children and families through educational and recreational initiatives.

Rodman Public Library’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Fund (2019)

This fund provides children who live in the 44601 postal code with quality, age-appropriate books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Ruth Walter Charitable Fund (2000)

In memory of her late husband Wayne, Ruth was one of the first donors to the Foundation and created this fund to support the Alliance Family YMCA and to respond to community needs.
